Interactive Customer Showroom Features Hands-On Xfinity Product Experience

ST. PAUL, MN—June 19, 2017—Comcast today announced the opening of its newest Twin Cities Xfinity Store in Eagan. Located in the growing Central Park Commons area, this interactive retail and product demonstration showroom is designed entirely around the customer experience, providing an opportunity to explore and interact directly with the latest Xfinity products and services.

The Eagan store is the latest store opening from Comcast, which has been transforming the retail centers across the country to make the customer experience better and more convenient. Customers can come to the Eagan Xfinity Store to get help, pay their bills, ask questions, return equipment, resolve issues and experience the latest products and technologies. The Eagan opening brings the total number of Xfinity Stores in the Twin Cities to eight.

“We’re excited to be opening our newest Xfinity Store in Eagan,” said J.D. Keller, regional vice president, Comcast Twin Cities. “These state-of-the-art stores are all about providing the best possible service to our customers, as well as giving all consumers a chance to explore our Xfinity products and services firsthand and check out our latest technology in an interactive environment.”

“Comcast is an important part of the Eagan community and we congratulate them on this new store,” said Vicki Stute, Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce President. “The Central Park Commons area is a great location and we welcome the employees who will be serving Dakota County customers from this new Xfinity store.”

The new Comcast Xfinity Store features fully interactive touchscreen displays that allow customers to learn all that Xfinity products have to offer. Customers can try out Xfinity TV through the company’s ground-breaking X1 platform; test drive the Twin Cities’ fastest broadband speeds with Xfinity Internet; navigate through the many specialized Xfinity apps for iOS and Android; experience Xfinity Home; learn about the many features of Xfinity Voice phone service, and more.

The new 5,000 square foot retail store is staffed by knowledgeable employees who can personally help customers with whatever they need. The goal is to get to customers in less than 10 minutes. In addition, the showroom also offers a self-service kiosk for quick bill pay.

The Eagan Xfinity store is located at 3325 Central Park Village Drive, Suite 100, Eagan, 55121. Store hours are Monday–Saturday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Comcast Increases Internet Speeds For Many Twin Cities Customers At No Additonal Cost

Performance 25 Speeds More than Double, Providing Greater Value and Faster Speeds
To Stream, Chat and Connect on Multiple Devices

SAINT PAUL, MN – March 20, 2017–Comcast today announced it is more than doubling the speed of its Performance 25 Xfinity Internet tier for existing customers in the Twin Cities area at no additional cost. Customers can now enjoy download speeds of up to 55 Mbps on the rebranded Performance Plus tier. In addition, current Performance Internet tier customers will see their download speeds increase from 50 Mbps to up to 70 Mbps at no additional cost. These new speeds are effective immediately.

“These increases reflect our commitment to bring faster Internet speeds to our customers, just like we’ve done almost every year for more than a decade,” said Jeff Freyer, Regional Vice President, Comcast Twin Cities. “Our goal is to deliver a great value and superior online experience for our customers. Whether gaming, streaming HD videos, or connecting multiple devices at the same time, we want to ensure they have the speeds they need.”

“The Twin Cities is a vital technology hub and our economy depends on fast, reliable Internet service to keep citizens and businesses connected,” said Margaret Anderson Kelliher, President and CEO, Minnesota High Tech Association.  “We’re pleased to know metro area residents continue to receive faster internet speeds, and we appreciate Comcast’s ongoing investments across the region.”

The new speeds are already available for customers; if necessary, modems can be re-set by momentarily unplugging the equipment from the power outlet. Comcast will also notify customers who may need to upgrade their modems to receive the increased speeds. Customers who lease modems from Comcast will be able to receive upgraded modems at no additional charge. Customers who own their own modems and need to upgrade to receive the increased speeds will need to purchase a new modem or can lease a new one from Comcast.

Xfinity continues to deliver the best in-home WiFi experience, and most Xfinity Internet customers can enjoy complimentary access to more than 15 million Xfinity WiFi hotspots nationwide. Customers can simply select “xfinitywifi” from the list of available networks on their laptops or mobile devices and enter their Xfinity ID or email and password. Hotspots can be found by either downloading the free Xfinity WiFi App, available on iOS and Android devices, or by visiting the hotspot finder map on www.xfinity.com/wifi.

Comcast offers a wide variety of speed tiers to meet consumers’ needs, whether surfing the web or streaming full-length movies. In fact, Comcast has invested billions of dollars in its network, locally and nationally, to meet consumer demand. The company has now increased speeds 17 times in the last 15 years, delivering speeds in most of its Twin Cities service area from 10 Mbps up to 2 Gbps for residential customers and up to 10 Gbps for business customers.

Comcast Twin Cities to Hire 120 Members of the Military Community, Pledges Support at Ceremony

Part of Comcast’s Nationwide Commitment to Add 10,000 Military Community Members To Workforce

ST. PAUL, MN—March 1, 2017—Comcast today announced a commitment to hire 120 Veterans, National Guard and Reserve Members, and Military Spouses in the Twin Cities before the end of 2017. In recognition of this promise, Comcast officials signed the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Statement of Support, pledging Comcast’s ongoing efforts to hire and support members of the National Guard and Reserve components.

The ceremony included members of the Minnesota National Guard along with Reserve units from the Twin Cities area, as well as more than 50 members of Comcast’s Twin Cities VetNet Employee Support Group. Comcast Vice President for Veteran and Military Affairs, Brigadier General (Ret) Carol Eggert and Regional Vice President, Jeff Freyer hosted the ceremony, which included presentation of colors by the Minnesota Honor Guard.

The 120 positions at Comcast’s Twin Cities Region operations is part of the company’s nationwide goal to add 10,000 veterans to its workforce by the end of 2017. Open positions include a variety of responsibilities and departments, including sales, technical operations, customer service and administrative support. In addition to a full range of health, wellness and personal benefit options, Comcast provides additional benefits for employee members of the National Guard and Reserve such as additional paid time off for military training, and pay differential and continuation of benefits when recalled to active duty.

“Comcast NBCUniversal has a long tradition of hiring and supporting veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses,” said Carol Eggert, Comcast vice president for Military and Veterans Affairs. “Our company founder, Ralph Roberts, was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran, and many of our current executive leaders, including CEO Neil Smit, also served in the military. We are proud to have thousands of members of the Military Community working across the country in all levels of the organization.”

“On behalf of the state of Minnesota and the Minnesota Air National Guard, I would like to thank Comcast for their support of our military Servicemen and women,” said Brigadier General Sandy Best, Chief of Staff, Minnesota Air National Guard. “I know first-hand the essential value of an employer’s support of military service and training requirements, and we could not fulfill our National Guard and Reserve Component mission without the kind of rock solid foundation you provide.”

“We value the, leadership and unique skills our National Guard and Reserve members bring to the Comcast Twin Cities team,” said Freyer. “We look to these Citizen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coastguardsmen to defend and protect our Nation, and they need our commitment of meaningful employment and support to carry out their duties. We’re proud to join ESGR in that effort.”
